- Starting position is with both feet placed flat against the center of the platform and toes pointing up.
- Legs are shoulder-width apart and knees are bent to a 90-degree angle.
- In some cases, achieving a 90-degree angle may be impossible. Here, an angle as close as possible to 90 degrees should be attained, but the user should note this, as any other angle than 90 degrees will affect the amount of weight that can be lifted.
- Back is placed firmly against the back seat pad and hands can use the handlebars located on both sides of the machine.
- Hands should not rest on the legs because this aids in the push-off of the movement.
