Discover a world of wellness with the Wellness Activity Challenge! This exciting initiative provides a year-round opportunity to prioritize your health and well-being. Whether you’re into exercising, eating right, or practicing self-care, there’s something for everyone. Take your time with each activity and savor the journey towards a healthier you. Plus, share your progress on social media using #NCHPADWellnessChallenge to inspire others and celebrate your achievements together!

The Challenge:

  • Choose 12 activities from below.
  • Challenge yourself to do one of the activities each month.
  • Share your wellness wins on social media with the #NCHPADWellnessChallenge hashtag!

The Challenge Activities

  1. Share a meal with a friend and reminisce about some of your best memories together.
  2. Declutter a room in your house and gather items to donate. Reach out to a community shelter to inquire about their needs.
  3. Experiment with a new vegetable dish recipe or try a vegetable you haven’t had before. Prepare extra to share with a friend.
  4. Spend time outdoors engaging in a favorite activity with your family.
  5. Give a friend or family member a call and chat while moving outdoors.
  6. Get active outside with a workout video!
  7. Practice deep breathing for relaxation.
  8. Organize a picnic with family or friends.
  9. Send a note or card to a loved one, and encourage them to pass on the gesture to someone else.
  10. Sample a new fruit, either by eating it as is or trying out a new recipe.
  11. Cook a nutritious meal and share it with a neighbor.
  12. Reflect on the lessons learned this year and share words of encouragement with a friend.
  13. Work on building muscle endurance through exercise.
  14. Take time to color, whether in a coloring book or by creating your own artwork to send to a friend or family member.
  15. Host a gathering with friends.
  16. Arrange a movie night with friends, choosing a movie or show everyone can enjoy together.
  17. Practice yoga for at least 10 minutes to stretch and relax.
  18. Visit a local museum or art gallery and explore the exhibits with a friend or family member.
  19. Organize a baking party with friends.
  20. Organize a DIY spa day at home, complete with facials and pampering treatments, to relax and unwind together.
  21. Find an accessible trail and go for a hike in a nearby nature reserve or park, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors together.
  22. Write down the top 5 reasons you’re grateful for a friend and share it with them in person or through a letter.
  23. Host a craft night with friends.
  24. Incorporate movement into your day with a 5-minute activity.
  25. Host a breakfast party where everyone prepares the same healthy breakfast dish.
  26. Dance freely as if nobody is watching.
  27. Connect with a friend through a phone call or face-to-face meeting.
  28. Participate in an adaptive fitness class such as seated yoga, wheelchair basketball, or adaptive dance, tailored to accommodate various abilities and mobility levels.
  29. Combine a book club with a lunch gathering.
  30. Have a game night with friends.
  31. Start a small gardening project together, whether it’s planting flowers, herbs, or vegetables in your backyard or balcony.
