The purpose of this study is to determine which accelerometers provide the best information about physical activity intensity in children with cerebral palsy.
Study - Children ages 8-18 years with cerebral palsy will attend one testing session. Children will wear accelerometers around their ankles, hips, and arms and a face mask which measures how much oxygen they use during rest and exercise (same equipment used to measure aerobic fitness in athletes). Oxygen consumption will be measured while children carryout movement activities such as sitting quietly while writing, wiping off a table, playing Xbox, Kinect games, and while walking at slow, fast and medium speeds.
