Camp HorseAbility is a riding, learning, and fun-filled day camp for people with special needs. The camp benefits each and every camper with a unique equine-centered experience that brings together all the wonderful attributes of horseback riding - riding as recreation, sport, hobby and therapy! The camp takes place annually during the fourth week of August (Mon. - Fri.) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
All activities are individually tailored to meet the special needs of the camper and are offered in an encouraging and safe atmosphere, with success and fun as our guiding principles. The environment encourages each camper in a positive and patient manner specifically designed to strengthen not only the equestrian abilities, but also the physical and emotional capacities of our campers.
In addition to the periods listed above, the campers enjoy a wide variety of special activities. Some of the events may include a circus performance, magic show, carriage rides, DJ, horse show, karaoke sing-along, and family-day B.B.Q.
Transportation and lunch are provided by the parent/guardian. Because of the camp's extensive staffing requirements (two staff members per every camper), we have limited attendance to approximately 60 persons. To secure a space in the camp, you are encouraged to apply to the camp as early as possible.
